Breaking through the bottom of the barrel and finding a new bottom

In the dead of night in a small hideaway office in the deserted Capitol, a clandestine meeting takes place between two senators with one goal.

They grin at each other as they lift their celebratory shots of brutally cold Stolichnaya.

“Our toast to The One,” they say in unison, “is that he’s toas-

ARGH. I can’t do this. I just … I can’t. It’s just too awful. I’m sorry. Awful, insubstantial opinion writing is one thing, but when it’s written in the format of a execrable paperback political thriller … there’s a difference between reading something that’s dumb and reading something that literally does violence to my brain. This clearly falls on the latter side.
