Pop Popular Art Under Democratic Presidents

(Changed the title for Erik, who is a graphic design major and likes to nitpick.)

Peter points out that I’m not the only one thinking about how an Obama presidency will transform popular fiction. He points to this io9 post about Clinton era sci-fi, and how the trends of that time could make a comeback.

Sure this is at least partially wankery–we’ve drifted way too far away from the status quo for Obama’s America to look very much like Clinton’s–but it sure is an interesting read, especially for those of us who hope to contribute to the popular fiction of Obamaland.

Plus, it features, apropos of not very much, a picture of Gillian Anderson’s smoldering gaze. Go read.
