Yeah, the label seems to fit pretty well to me. I haven’t heard a substantive reason why it wouldn’t fit, so unless I’m missing something, the idea that this is somehow untranslatable into modern philosophical concepts sounds like sort of a dodge. Or if not a dodge, then evidence that the whole concept didn’t make a tremendous amount of sense in the first place.
Do you think that the Nahua metaphysical concept of Teotl is really a form of dialectical polar monism? Is it fair to give such concepts western labels when they were developed using a different way of thinking?
